Benefits of Marine Algae

Algae are some of the most primitive life forms found on Earth and have been consuming as food and used as medicine for centuries. Humans regularly consume the blue-green algae seeking for better digestion. In some place, algae are referred to as a superfood due to its high concentration of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and proteins. There are different kinds of marine algae with different types of health benefits.


Weight loss: Marine algae has a lot of benefits. One of the many benefits algae brings to those who eat it or take it constantly is weight loss, specifically, the brown algae have been shown to help with weight loss.

Cardiovascular health: A scientific review says that blue-green algae may help with cardiovascular disease. Due to its high concentration of GLA, fibers and plant sterols that work together to prevent heart disease or cardiovascular disease in general.

Lower Cholesterol Levels: In 2016 the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture mention the ability to lower cholesterol that Marine Algae has when eat or taken constantly. It is capable to lower cholesterol because of the high source of phytosterols which help lower the amount of LDL (bad) cholesterol in the blood.
